Us to help Argentina Improve Waterways and Ports

The General Administration of Ports of Argentina (AGP) signed an agreement with the United States Army Corps of Engineers to improve the Paraná-Paraguay Waterway, focusing on environmental concerns, trade regulation, and navigation. The collaboration aims to enhance efficiency, port management training, waterway maintenance, and infrastructure development. Paraguay also welcomes the agreement, emphasizing navigation safety and competitiveness. While Paraguay and the US focus on technical studies for their sovereign stretch of the waterway, Argentina emphasizes cooperation with the US over China. Strengthening waterway management could reduce vulnerabilities to crime, with the involvement of the US military providing assurance and transparency, potentially addressing corruption concerns. https://lnkd.in/d4PN3YwU
